As of 2011, Andorran vehicle number plates consist of four numbers in black, preceded by a letter, on a white background. Automòbil Club d'Andorra produces national number plates under a concession by the Andorran government.
Once the registration certificate has been submitted, Automòbil Club d'Andorra gives the holder a set of number plates with the registration number issued by the Registry. The vehicle must carry these number plates. Carrying any national badge other than that of Andorra is prohibited, as are markings of any kind next to the number plates.
Number plates must be fitted in the places provided by the manufacturer. People wishing to get a new set of number plates because their existing ones are in poor condition must approach Automòbil Club d'Andorra and hand over the set of number plates in poor condition. If they are lost or stolen, the interested party must obtain the pertinent certificate of loss or theft from the police. This certificate must be submitted to Automòbil Club d'Andorra when applying for the new set of number plates.

After years of requests by our members, personalised number plates now exist for conventional vehicles in Andorra. There are a range of possible combinations and the final price depends on these.
In order to configure a personalised number plate, the following requirements must be borne in mind:
It must have at least two characters and at most five.
They can only be letters or numbers, and it must always begin with a letter
The letters and numbers making up the vehicle registration can be chosen in accordance with the rules in place, such as not altering the design of the Andorran number plate, as neither the dimensions of the plate nor its appearance (shape, colour, background and typography) can be changed. A registration of only numbers is not allowed, and five-figure registrations must have at least two letters to avoid coinciding with the existing numbering.
All vehicles with an ordinary number plate can have a personalised registration number, but this is not allowed for special diplomatic corps and consular vehicles, tourist and trial registrations or vintage cars, snowmobiles and mechanical equipment.
